Frequently Asked Questions:
I just want a good family dog. Why should I care about the pedigree?
To make sure you are getting a vizsla that has a good temperament and that will make a good family pet
we encourage families to base it on the quality of the pedigree and bloodline - this will be a dog you will
have for 10 to 15 years so the more titles that are in the pedigree, the better pet you will have and the
better the health and temperament will be...countless training hours and strong human - dog
relationships are built when obtaining those initials in front of or behind those names listed on the
pedigrees and those gentle and intelligent characteristics are passed on to the puppies. This is called a
'proven' bloodline. This 'proves' that the puppies will have a solid temperament, otherwise there
is no
'proof'.

With all those field titles in the bloodline won't the dog be out of control and just want to hunt
all the time?
NO! The whole point of hunt tests and field trials is to show that your dog listens and responds to you!
These are very important characteristics to have in your home. It makes potty training and any other
training MUCH easier.

Do you stand behind your breedings?
YES! All puppies are guaranteed in writing to be free from any genetic defects. We have never  had
someone call us back and say they were disappointed with a dog they received from us and some of our
puppies are several years old with no evidence of any problem whatsoever!

My biggest problem is that I can't find a breeder in my area. Isn't it better for me to choose
my puppy myself, not just have a breeder pick one for me then send him or her?
NO! Over the years there have been a lot of families that drive to the nearest "breeder" to look at a
puppy and of course they aren't going to drive home empty handed as cute and fun as puppies are --
then they end up regretting it, wishing they would have purchased a puppy from a proven breeding with
a quality pedigree. The reason breeders pick puppies for families is not always due to distance. In most
cases we see people who are new to the breed or may have had one vizsla for many years and are now
looking to get another. I would highly recommend that you choose a breeder who does the picking for
you or at least limits your selection. We have years of experience with the breed and can evaluate
puppy personalities much better than a newcomer to the breed or even someone who has had one vizsla
for years. We spend 7 weeks with the puppies, watching them grow and develop their own personalities
and will know which pup is dominant, docile, bold, etc. As a first time owner, you definitely do not want
the most dominant or the one hiding in the corner, you need one that is in between. If there are families
interested in showing or hunting with the dogs, that is another consideration in making the right match.
It is in our best interest to put the right puppies in the right homes. We have invested a lot of time,
effort and money into our litters. Choosing the right breeder is far more important than choosing a
particular pup from a litter. If you find the right breeder and the right litter, you'll get the right pup.

Are tails and declaws done?
YES! Tails are docked and declaws removed according to breed standards.

Do you ship your puppies?
YES! Your puppy can be shipped to the nearest decent sized airport to your home. Shipping costs vary
but usually run right at $250 by the time you get a ticket, taxes, fees, fuel surcharge, insurance and
purchase the portable kennel for transport. Shipping is not hard on the puppies at all - usually they take
off in the morning and arrive early afternoon in most parts of the U.S. and puppies sleep 20 hours a day
or more so most of the travel time they sleep.

How do I reserve a puppy from a current or upcoming litter?
We have a sales contract that protects you, as a buyer, saying you are getting a healthy puppy from
specified parents at an agreed price and you secure your place on the list with a $200 deposit that is
applied to the overall agreed price (which varies depending on the breeding) All you have to do is
contact us and we can email the sales contract for you to look over.

How much do your puppies cost?
Puppies sired from Pete are usually $850 since he has his Junior Hunter title and a pedigree packed
full of field of show and field champions. Puppies sired from Chase are usually $950 since he is a show
champion with 12 of the 14 ancestors in his pedigree being show champions as well.
